DESCRIPTION
St. Mary’s Catholic School has an opening for a full time faithful, engaging, and effective Elementary Teacher. Working on a team, the successful candidate is an educational and spiritual leader who encourages excellence in all students. Teachers are responsible for the development and implementation of curricular goals and objectives to fulfill desired student learning outcomes in accordance with prescribed and selected academic standards. This position is also responsible for teaching, mentoring, and modeling the Catholic faith.
St. Mary’s Catholic School is a strong PreK - 8 Catholic school focused on faith, academics, and family. The school has served Worthington and surrounding communities for nearly 75 years. There are exciting new projects underway to connect student learning with the real-world. The school is a mission of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and therefore maintains a strong relationship with the parish and the parishioners. Active parent involvement creates and supports a strong community base for the school.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be a practicing Catholic and/or willing to uphold the teachings of the Catholic faith
- A valid and current Minnesota State Teaching License
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop lesson plans and successfully instruct students in theories, methods and tasks as indicated in the Minnesota State Academic Standards
- Capacity to effectively communicate with others and clearly express complex ideas
- Ability to adapt plans to specific classrooms
- Flexibility and critical-thinking skills
- Patience and grace
- Ongoing compliance with the Diocesan requirements as they relate to the safety of children and vulnerable adults
- Leadership skills and patience for working with students of all ages
