Bishop Barron Statement regarding Bishop-elect Neary

“I was delighted to learn that Fr. Patrick Neary, CSC has been appointed the new bishop of the diocese of St. Cloud.  I have known Bishop-elect Neary for many years.  When I was a scholar in residence at the University of Notre Dame, some twenty years ago, he was the vice-rector of Moreau Seminary, where I resided.  I came to know him as an extraordinarily kind, compassionate, intelligent, and devoted priest.  He will be a blessing to the good people of the St. Cloud diocese.”
