Help For Men And Women Struggling With Pornography Use Or Addiction

Pornography has become increasingly more available and accepted in today’s society. Both men and women of all ages have become entangled in the lies and pain of pornography. Read for more information.

Create In Me A Clean Heart: A Pastoral Response to Pornography

At their November 2015 General Assembly, the U.S. bishops approved the formal statement Create in Me a Clean Heart: A Pastoral Response to Pornography with an almost unanimous vote.

Bishop Richard J. Malone of Buffalo, chairman of the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth, which directed the statement's development, said: "My brother bishops' approval of this statement shows our collective concern for the widespread problem of pornography in our culture today. As the statement says, virtually everyone is affected by pornography in some way. So many people –including within the Church– are in need of Christ's abundant mercy and healing. My hope is that the statement can serve as a foundation and catalyst for increased pastoral attention to this challenge at the national and local level."

e5 Men

The e5 Man fasts for his bride as a way to imitate Jesus as described by Saint Paul in his letter to the Ephesians, chapter 5 (for which the e5 is named). e5 Men fast in unison on bread and water for at least one 24 hour day per month - preferably the 1st Wednesday of the month.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her.

EPHESIANS 5:25

So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church.

EPHESIANS 5:28-29

Jesus made a bodily sacrifice on the cross for his bride the church to present her to God the Father "without spot or wrinkle." (Eph 5:27) By fasting for our earthly bride and joining our sufferings to Christ's we intercede for grace for our brides. At the same time our act of bodily love in union with Christ accelerates our own conversion.

By making this sacrifice for the women in our lives we live out the essence of the gospel through a very particular act of self denial. To lay down one's body out of love for another is the central message of the gospel.

That Man Is You!

That Man Is You! is an interactive, multimedia men’s program focused upon the development of authentic male leadership. Over the course of three years, That Man is You! successively considers men in their relationship to God, to their spouse and to their children.

The program content harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive. It is particularly indebted to the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and Pope John Paul II.

That Man is You! is successful at attracting large numbers of men, including younger men still actively parenting, and then transforming their spiritual lives. Indeed, independent research from a Faith Advisor to The Gallup Poll reveals That Man is You! to be one of the most life transforming programs ever studied.

FORGE

At FORGE, we want to do more than just teach men how to be good fathers. Our goal is to build a foundation of healthy fathers, strong families, and empowered evangelizers to revitalize the family, transform our culture, and rebuild the Church.

The Problem

The corrosion of family-based, Christian society in the face of an aggressive, anti-marriage, anti-male pagan sexuality.

The Solution

Find and form men to fight for the family. Cultivate husbands, fathers, and families, who, through the beauty of their flourishing, evangelize the world.

Our Philosophy

At FORGE we address the issue we judge to be at the epicenter of the problems facing the Church and all of mankind: the exploitation of sexuality for the destruction of marriage. Our business is formation for the entire family, but our missional center lies with husbands, fathers, and sons.

We find and form men to fight for the family. By doing so, we hope to rebuild the Church and the world.

Our Strategy

We’re already started, but in the years to come FORGE will provide professionally developed educational resources on all topics related to family flourishing.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • family apostolate
  • parenting
  • lifelong fidelity and intimacy
  • education at key “hinge stages” along life’s journey
