What is TEC

TEC is a three-day weekend retreat based on the Paschal Mystery: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. TEC began as “Teens Encounter Christ” in 1965 for high school students. TEC in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester brings teens and young adults together over a weekend retreat to encounter Christ as the family of God.

What to Expect

A TEC weekend retreat works to build spiritual growth through participation in group activities. Although some time is given for individual prayer and reflection, the emphasis throughout the weekend is on group participation through music, discussions, talks, prayer, Scripture, Mass and celebration.

Who Can Attend?

Teens and adults, age 16 and older, are welcome to attend the retreat weekend. You will be placed in small groups based on your age. With both youth and adults present, we require all adults to have a current background check processed and filed. Once registered, the TEC Coordinator will contact you regarding further details.
